CDAC remain at the top of the table after a 2-0 win away to UD Alfacar. It was a strong away performance on a chilly morning up in the mountains, however the game definitely got a bit heated in the final moments.
Chances were few and far between in the first half. CDAC dominated possession but failed to create any clear-cut chances. Kyle Copp came closest to breaking the deadlock when he volleyed just wide from the edge of the box. Our opponents UD Alfacar didn’t threaten us at all in terms of creating chances of their own, instead setting a low block in order to limit our attacking capabilities. The two sides entered the break in a stalemate with CDAC looking the more dangerous side.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 55th minute. Kyle Copp played a nice ball through to Aaron Redford, who kept his composure well to place the ball past the keeper. The Copp + Redford partnership has been lethal so far this season and it continued to produce against UD Alfacar. CDAC had to wait until the final few minutes of the game before doubling their advantage. Kyle Copp added another to goal to his impressive total this season, as he wrapped the game up for CDAC.
The game ended abruptly after a UD Alfacar reacted badly to a challenge from Max Mikkola, thus inciting an altercation between the two teams. Everyone will be disappointed with how the game ended but we are certainly pleased to get another 3 points and another clean sheet, maintaining our position at the top of the league. Next week we face UD Colomera 3.0 in a top of the table clash.
