Review: Alhendin Balompie

We returned once again to the Estadio Municipal Francisco Bonet for our second home game of the season. This time we faced a tough test in Alhendin Balompie who, like CDAC, were right up there in the league table. The fixture was made all the more difficult by the state of the pitch, which due to a number of different circumstances, was left in a state not conducive to our passing game.

Both teams struggled to make chances at the start of the game with Josh Greene going closest to grabbing the opening goal, but his effort was well saved at the near post by the Alhendin Goalkeeper. CDAC continued to look the more threatening team and the opening goal duly arrived 10 minutes before half time and it was worth the wait. Another long throw into the box by Mikhail Hastings caused havoc amongst the Alhendin players until the ball fell to Zimbabwean midfielder Baka who acrobatically volleyed home to give CDAC the advantage.

The second half was dominated by CDAC in terms of possession, however we failed to convert our dominance into clear cut chances. We finally grabbed a deserved second goal after Baka flicked the ball on for Travis Bowen and the American striker rounded the Goalkeeper to grab his third goal in two games. The game ended 2-0 in favour of CDAC as we grabbed another deserved victory.

Another decent performance which sees us maintain our good start to the season. Thanks again to everyone who turned out to support the team. The team greatly appreciates your support and encouragement and we want to see a crowd like that at every single home game this season. We focus now on the upcoming fixture against Vandalia Peligros B, another home game as we look to create a fortress out of the Estadio Municipal Francisco Bonet.

Vamos CDAC!
