CDAC returned to winning ways yesterday with a huge victory over bottom of the table CD Huescar. After making the long trip to Huescar, the lads put on a real show, putting seven goals past a hapless Huescar, also keeping a clean sheet in the process.
The first goal was scored by centre back Ivan Parra who headed home from a looping cross by Kasper Mikkelsen. The second followed shortly, as captain Sean Morris buried a penalty past the Huescar keeper, following a handball, who went the correct way but still couldn’t keep it out. On the stroke of half time, young winger Max Mikkola made it 3-0 with a fantastic strike from the edge of the box. Cutting in onto his stronger left foot, Max fired low past the keeper to send us into the break with a 3-goal advantage.
The goals continued to flow in the second half and from unlikely sources as well. Full back Adam Spinks made it 4-0 with a great left-footed finish, his first goal for the club after not finding the back of the net last season either. The fifth goal came from the prolific Hastings connection, this time though it was Alex who headed a cross from George Jermy to his brother Mikka who had an easy past the keeper. Max Mikkola doubled his tally for the day with another strong run and finish making it 6-0 to CDAC. The scoring was rounded off by Kasper Mikkelsen who finished from distance, was it a shot? Was it a cross? Who knows but they all count the same and it capped off a great performance by CDAC.
Thanks to Colomera’s game being suspended, we have moved to the sole leader at the top of the league now! It’s time to make that position our own for the rest of the season now and performances like this one will go a long way to making that happen. Next week we are at home against second bottom Otura Atletico, lets get another victory to cement our place at the top of the league.
