Following their successful first season, Almuñécar City are going through a little bit of a rebrand ahead of the 2018/19 season which kicks off in September.
With the ayuntamiento redesigning their sports logo earlier in the year the club felt it was appropriate to design a club badge that was more aligned to the new image.
George Jermy said, "We wanted to change the badge to fully encompass all what is the Almuñécar community and along with our signings in the off season show that we are here to play in the town and be the premier club but also we are here to represent the people of this amazing place! By incorporating the official crest of Almuñécar we feel intergrate ourselves more and feel proud to take the town crest everywhere we go on our journey to bringing national league level football to the Estadio Francisco Bonet"
Club General Manager Chris Darwen commented, "One of things that is very important to us as we continue to grow Almuñécar City is that it feels part of the local community. Little things like having the official Almuñécar sports logo in our badge once again shows the people of Almuñécar that we are committed to a long-term project here and that we want to be part of this town. With the Academy moving to the town and all of the players living together here as of September then they will be proud to wear a shirt with this badge on it."
The club are hoping to announce an exciting preseason tournament to be held at the Estadio Municipal Francisco Bonet in the next few days. The tournament will be between four teams; City and three other higher level local rivals.
Information will be published as soon as possible.
